Sinus and Resentment
Here is a true story which will give you an idea how sinus and resentment are inter-related with one another . While on vacation recently, friends of ours came to stay with us. We picked them up at the airport, and the wife was angry because there was a little boy on the plane coughing and sneezing the whole trip. She was sure she was going to end up with "his" illness and ruin her whole vacation. I informed her that I was sure she would end up with it as well, but not because of the little boy, rather because of her own resentments.
Let's think about a little boy who we come across in life who is very ill. Our ego can kick in and be angry and resentful toward that little boy or we can turn to our true self which would show compassion and love. My friend immediately went with ego. I explained to her how the emotional system works and although she listened, I'm not sure she understood. But sure enough, two days later, she came down with a full blown sinus infection, coughing and sneezing constantly.
She promptly apologized because she felt bad that we would "catch" her infection. I reassured her that "her" infection could not affect me unless I allowed it to. I felt bad (in other words, I had compassion) for her that she was so sick on her vacation, but certainly I did not get angry with her.
She returned back home still sick with her illness. I managed to stay healthy because of the choices I made by not reacting in a negative way.
Many clients will come to see me with illness and all apologize thinking that I will catch it from them. I reassure them, "only if I allow it".
